Charming-youthful-fierce, that is the only way we could describe the Union Street Runners ,oh yeah Powerful spring to mind as well. London Town, seemed to go through some dark patch for a while, after all that fuss about The Libertines and the scene that followed a few years back, it seems London Town is generating some mean music and exciting bands again, we all know about the Rifles but what of Union Street Runners.Thrashy Power Pop with hints of Brit-popness :)
Power Pop Not Britpop
So take a listen to the up and at em 'To Many Pirates' the guitars fighting for supreme status in this short Romp, throw in edgy vocals and you have a killer of tune, make no mistake these boys rock and they roll somewhat as well.This is Pure Power Pop not Britpop, although there are hints of some very English influences in there.
Southern Soul
They really do knock out some wonderful grab you music for a 3 piece, but on 'Last Transmission' goes full circle, not a thrashing guitars in sight ,no 110 mile a hour stance, we have a willowing-almost haunting piercing guitar picking it's way through the song, and the vocal show more than a hint of being capable of mixing it with the best.The band state on their web site Southern Soul,and if music is good for the soul then yeah Southern Soul would be a good banner to stand under.
