Radar..What do you get if you are influenced by the likes of The Specials/The Clash mix in The Kinks well you start to sound like Radar that's what.. Callum Johnston (vocals) has all those influences tied up neatly in his vocal style, esp the Ska vibe, but on the CD Single '5th Columnist' the whole band excel , it's a neat trick blending so many styles and making it sound very fresh and very now.
The Single (released) on the very Big label EMI is real grower as are Radar.The single 'perfectly capturing the bands modern digital ska-vibe' as it states on the bands web site, and it's good to see a band not afraid to wear it's influences but also it's vision truly on it's sleeve.
Not really do Radar ever break into any speed, but the bass lines and punchy Drumming lift the tunes and it all moves along in a mellow thumping way .The Vocals are ever growing on a number of the tunes.They are band that will be grooving well into 2007, and more than likely be very Huge..
