The On Offs They've been talked about by those in the know for a while now and its not hard to see why. As was reported on these pages last month, they supported The Rifles on their recent tour and made themselves a lot of friends along the way. The On Offs are: Danny Connors - vocals/guitar. Andy Crofts - Vocals/Bass. Luke Goddard - Vocals/Drums. They hail from Northampton and play a punchy brand of sharp rhythm and blues. Its got a definite revival feel, and is perfect to raise the roof in a hot, sweaty club. The boys have a strong sense of the sartorial and can be relied upon to deliver their set with the optimum amount of stage presence. They have produced two strong singles so far. Both “This Town” and “Wrong Upstairs” are good examples of the straight ahead vibe that they do so well. You can see videos for each song on the band‘s website at www.theonoffs.com and hear some more tunes at http://www.myspace.com/theonoffs . All three songs - “Love Me”, “Conversation” and “54 Hours” sit neatly with the other tunes and make you want to jump up and get grooving. They're got some festivals coming up and then they're on tour with The Ordinary Boys and The Zutons in the Autumn. It won't be long before they're headlining themselves. Catch them in smaller venues while you still have the chance. Rob Massey .Menu |
