Hey do you remember Thurman , I think we called them 'Britpop Chancers' in our feature of them many moons ago !! well what Thurman tried to do was mix a blend of Britpop with heavy overtones of Marc Bolan, did it work ? not really, although it did produce some mighty fine Glamed up tunes..So The Loves (did they know of Thurman I wonder ?) '1-2-3' could even come from Thurmans back catalog, does it work ? Indeed it does, this is a royal rocking Glam tune, raunchy Guitar, Glitter like chorus yeah it works well. sliding Guitar and heavenly vocals Things can't get better or can they ? sliding Guitar and heavenly vocals abound on 'Chelsea Girl' what a sweet voice it sweeps along with charm.. The soul filled cheek of the whole single leaves me feeling great .I started the whole review for The Loves single as Fresh cuts piece not very long, but then checking them more- a feature came along. There is a strange mixing going on with 'I My she loves You' wow full of Technicolor, these tunes are not in Black and White kids,Simon and Jenna know how to hold a song together but on 'I My she loves you' the Keyboard playing ED, is amazing he MAKES that tune, great blends of 60's here ..I can see and hear what all the fuss is about.Well Done Fortuna Pop another Good-un. |
