pure garage snarl-a-thon Super cool Belfast combo The Keepers have produced a raucous album of R&B mod garage with Rock'n'roll from The Lagan Delta (Vibrator Records) . Mixing up the manic attitude vibes of The Woggles, Them, The Pretty things and The Stairs, The Keepers run amok on this album. ‘Hardcase' cooks with big chords crunching. ‘Go With The Flow' is a Kinksy melodic breeze. ‘Gonna Get Ya' is a pure garage snarl-a-thon, magnificent. ‘Chelsea Whopper', is just that, a whopper of rampant instrumentalism, similar in style to one of Weller's freakouts. scuzzy rocker with mad organ Perhaps the best raucous rave up on the album is ‘Money' a pure adrenaline rush of rock'n'roll nuggets garage stompiness, rip it up. ‘We Should Know' is like The Prisoners with huge chunky rhythms and melodic embellishments. ‘U & I Don't Belong (vox jag mix)' is scuzzy rocker with mad organ creating a demented racket, very cool. The trashy ‘I Wanna Girl is sweaty, carnal and outrageous. Rock'n'Roll From Lagan Delta is just that, Rock'nRoll, go buy the album.Jonny Magus |
