How ready are you for a female fronted band that is not like anything you have heard before - worried that we might be wrong ? hang on-are we ever ?
Howling Bells well they just are that band, on 'it's a low happening' is nothing but original and outstanding, sulky-sultry-moody yeah all those and then some.But's its the almost Astral sounding 'Setting Sun' that moved me great to hear soft vocals around a blending of mellow guitar riffs and probes, with a drumming lesson in mellow happening in the background, Not really a tune I would like, but this is magical, it builds and crashes down. 'Broken Bones' continues in a similar mode, but breaks away fast, it's all very Country for Now, yeah Sohostrut used that word Country, and do you know what the Vocals on this even had large hints of Kate Bush..No bad thing.Not sure where you can go with this but for a while it sounds almost perfect.
Not
