The Horrors
"Death at the Chapel", became a sold out much sort after CD single very fast I can see why..Class..London/Southend band The Horrors are fast becoming just as sort after and with a Video setting the likes of MTV2 on fire this band with a very different sound are doing very well thank you. FARIS
BADWAN
This band are so far removed from any current crop of Britpop bands, indeed this is a one off sound alright, although throughout most of the bands songs is a very 60's influenced Piercing Keyboard that drives the sound along, the keyboard infact being about the bands best melody provider, of course Faris can sing but we are not talking sweet harmonies here.
The Current single (oct writing) "count in fives" a rick- shaw shredding of sounds, it is that different, it is twisted and electric, it's moody and its dark and it's ugly in a very cool way and I Suspect it to be a big contender for Indie single of the week on XFM (watch this space) these boys give across a fine 'New' Art Pop look and although it does not swing with any form of Pop-Friendly ness it is almost perfect Garage from the roots..
