The Draytones a band we have covered a few times, and this bunch of retro rockers have managed to go that one step further with a brand new release on 1965 Records and a tour with Paul weller.
obscure 60's tune
The Release to coincide with the tour is called 'Up In My Head' the long player will certainly get the Mod fathers foot tapping, the opening 'Turn It Down' reminds me very much of the La's and that can't be bad, can it ? it's the royal 60's feedback full tune that drifts away at times, with an almost Beatles like twist.It does not stop there however, every trick that was tried in 1965 is thrown in here 'After all' could well have been some obscure 60's tune, reworked and twisted for the 00's....
Yeah indeed we have watched the Draytones with interest over the past couple of years and on this offering it becomes very clear, a classy sounding-hip looking band..
