Sohostrut says :-The Draytones..3 snappy dressing looking chaps that are very much a part of the ever growing group of bands that are forcing Beat sounds back into the UK, the bands sound ( Keep Loving Me CD) is chockka full of 60's vibes some very crafty Guitars and feedback going on there if you didn't know you could be listening to a lost 60's masterpiece......

Born onstage in May 2006, having been conceived and incubated in Drayton Park, North London (hence the name!).
We are an Anglo-argentine 3 piece: Gabriel (Guit) Chris (bass) Luke (drums)

We first played together in Gab's front room in September 2005, from then on we started making songs together bound by a mutual love of classic British R'n'B, R'n'R, garage, freakbeat, merseybeat(!),Syd,The La's,The Bandits, Coral.........

we decided to enter the murky arena of the London live music scene, spurred on by the good work of the bishops, rumble strips, vincent vincent, somebodys mind, the hoosier complex and many others.......We played Scrimshankers at 93 feet east first, then indiesexual@catch 22......we then set about recording some songs (in Gab's front room again!) to put up on myspace.

About the same time we were contacted by ex-Rough trade A&R James Endeacott's new label 1965 Records. We played their night at the Windmill in Brixton supporting The View and the label seemed to really like us! We will be recording music for them in July with Stan Kybert producing. Next we played with The Strawbs at a music festival in Twickenham. We want to keep playing to new audiences and to experience new things. We don't really feel we are a Mod or Soul band, although there is inherent 'retroism' in the instruments and the colour of the sound we try to create.....if we can make our own unique sound in this way then so be it !
