'Searching for the young soul rebels' opens the twisting of a radio dial on bursts 'Anarchy in the UK') Kevin Rowland and the gang then take us into the new soul vision ,and how clever it was for a short while,it was a tad different than the Two-Tone stuff, much more refined than Mod Revival, it blended soul as deep as Stax and Northern Soul and gave it a twist. Along with it came a look the Dexys Army Look, a grim almost Council estate look, working class man donkey Jacket, wooly hats and boots.

It was an album packed full of dancing tunes, working class tunes -a- master piece-Maybe-maybe not.Kevin's vocal style and the Brassy back beats made it a ground breaker, though almost all that followed from his camp was weak and no where as inspiring as this.
