What do you know of Dead Dead Dead, a Southampton based band that have been making waves of recent time in the Big City Of London, four Well tuned Song-smiths who's debut Promo Cd, was full of every twist and turn you could think of, Yes that's about right.

So Tell us about Dead Dead Dead where did that name come from ?

It came out of the boredom and frustration of trying to think of a name -
and now I think it suits us, its an interesting juxtaposition!

How long have you been together as a group? Have you always had this lineup ?

The lineup hasn't changed for the 18 months we've been together

Who Writes the songs ?

Mick Hucknall

Your style is very hard to tag, how would you describe the sound of Dead Dead Dead ?

Something like "Doins doovers clackish eskimo rock"

The Songs on you Sampler CD are very clever, there are many twists and turns from all of the players, are the songs Complicated to play live ?

Not particularly.. We practise til we bleed! We could, and frequently do, play them in our sleep..

Also there are some wonder titles in your songs for example 'George', who come up with such great titles for the tunes ?

We try to reflect the feel and mood of the song in the title, rather than lift a lyric. Cinema plays an important part of it too I guess.

> > You seem to strike a balance in the sound very Modern yet with little bits of great Guitar Indie Pop thrown in is that the way Dead Dead Dead are heading ?

We try not to get stuck in one particular style of guitar music, its a case of fleshing out everyone's ideas to create something that's unexpected - most of all for us!

So who doe's influence on DDD, what's on your CD player right now ?

Influences would have to be The Smiths, Joy Division, The Clash. We're listening to British Sea Power, Mumm-ra, Rubber Soul, Frances the Mute..

Gigs..You seem to have the local area covered and from reviews I have seen are very popular in the home area, how have the trips to London been received both by the paying public and the Music Press ?

Really well ... most of our London shows have been decent turnouts and we've had some nice things written about us, so everything is quite positive at the moment

And what has been the best gig so far you have played ?

Probably last week at the Joiners in Southampton! It was really busy and we had people singing our words which is great. and bizarre.

Who would you love to tour with if given the chance ?

erm.. Brian Blessed and the Beard Bandits, and Rik Waller's Mighty Soul Band

Tell us about the future for DDD, any record company sniffing around, national Tours plant for Europe ?

We have a single coming out around May time on Apricot Records, and a little tour to coincide with that. We're also in the studio next week working on four tracks for the next EP, it's a busy year for the Dead

Sum up DDD in 3 words ?

Floral. Hard. Rock.
