Wow sohostrut we seem to have the knack of finding great new talent, and with out a doubt Darron is one of those..Here's what Rob had to say about the Face of 2006's last recording.. Not only has he been snapped up by an Italian fashion company, but he is being rated musically as well. And you can hear why. Here we have six songs. All of them delivering an anthemic mood.

Not un-reminiscent of Mark Joseph. Influenced by people such as Oasis and The Small Faces, his tunes have an impressively arrangement, which showcase his distinctive vocal style. May favourites on here are “Early In The Morning”, which floats around your mind all day, and “So Sorry”. One things definite - you'll be hearing more of him.Rob Massey..

And this is what Darron had to say at the end of last year when Tony caught up with him for a chat..

Tell me about the origins Your self as a singer. How long have you been doing this ?

well i come from the shadows of QPR's loftus rd stadium, literaly born & breed.Been singing all my life apparantly, been doing the real thing about three years as a solo artist in different guises, but i feel my time is now coming 2006 will be the year of DJC.

How would you catagorize your sound for those who haven't heard you before ?

i sound like the beatles would sound if they were a 21st century band(i wish)i dont really want to put my self in a box,but it's proper songs & proper singing.the image is imaterial the songs the music comes first.but always i make sure i look the bollocks theres already anough scruffy herberts out there.im cut from a different cloth mate.

I love the way you strike a good balance between traditional and modern sounds. Do you prefer vintage instruments and gear, or whatever suits the ur pose?

whatever suits really, but your right i always tip my hat to the classic sounds of the past, but my sound is defiantly a 21st century sound.

What's your take on the mainstream media's discovery of so called garage rock ? It's always been there, its just considered cool again.i love some of it like the white stripes, but some bands just jump on the band wagon.id rather have my own thing going on.go and listen to the choclate watch band, stooges, the velvet underground then your talking real garage rock!!!

Who writes the tunes , just you or do you have help ?

All the tunes are mine, just mine.

What is your experience of playing the songs live?

I love the live gigs i,ve been doing and hope the people who come & see me enjoy it to ,thats what its all about really.

When you gig live, what do you use in the way of a band ?

just me and my guitarist ANDREW SKINNER stripped down & exposed, that way you cant hide or gloss over anything.so if if ive got what it takes its there on show for all to see,no gimmicks,no smoke screens.

You had a ny real Fave gigs so far and where ?

All gigs are so different, you,re have to ask the people that come to see me.their fave gig is more important.i just think im in front of 100,000 at all times, and give it large regardless.

You have a pretty strong mod tradition, both in sound and the way you look,do you think we have got that right ?

of coarse you've got the right!!!music is soaking in mod culture.the fact its always evolving means its Retro, currant, future, plus its a true rock n roll image it sets you apart from the people you want to be apart from.its the only true individual pop culture.

Do you have any musical heroes? to many! any one from elvis, lennon, weller, lydon, morrison, jagger, mariott, holt, gallagher, brown,da ltry.told ya to many!i could go on for days

Are there any new bands out there at the moment who you particularly like?, esp Mod type bands?

yeah loads, the libertines could have had it all, that idiot pete doherty will be remembered for all the wrong reasons ,it's a shame cause his songs are gorgous.i like alot of the currant indie scene ,kaisers etc their all got a touch of mod about them.the ordinary boys rock to,nouvou mods eh!

What do you think of the so called Britpop revival are you part of that in any way ?

im a direct result from britpop in a way ,i was in my late teens when it happened & to me it was a god send such a cool time.the music, the imagery was shit hot.plus paul weller was reborn to a new generation which can only be a good thing.

Is there anyone who you would like to support, or you would like to support you?

any one who,d have me really! mr weller are you reading this????

What about other art forms? Have any books or films had a big influence you?

The doors of perception by Auldos huxley is very inlightening read.i like reading about people in th spot light, some are strange fuckers in real life.feel good factor films make me upbeat for a while but mainly i got to much music & imagery in my own mind to deal with any one elses.

What are your plans for the future?

i want to be a real force in the music arena, fuck setting the>bar, thats getting kicked right off all or nothing for me ,other wise whats the point.

Any lables looking at you at the present time, can we expect some Long Player releases soon?

yeah theres stuff in the pipe line, but theres a saying about counting your chickens so lets wait & see,not to long hopefully.

Sum up yourself style and Music m in 3 Words ?

fucking great mate! thats 3 words aint it?
