The Boycotts Looking form raw energy, total enthusiasm and efforletless sporting of The Look? Go no further than The Boycotts. Three lads from Staines and they are rocking the house down. They are: Sam Langworth- vocals/guitar John Collins- bass David Foster- guitar Ben Griffiths- drums They have played a shedload of gigs in nearby pubs and by all accounts they have gone down a storm. Check them at http://www.myspace.com/the_boycotts . impressive covers There's a selection of videos which show their potential. There are an impressive covers of “In The City” and “Teenage Kicks” plus other tunes such as “Nick Is This The Real World”. You can also hear their new demo at http://www.myspace.com/theboycottsdemo . And from where I'm sitting its brilliant. There is the anthemic “She Holds The Key”, “What They Say“ and “In The Morning“. They describe their sound as “pop anthems for disaffected youth”. And I for one have to agree. spiky urgency Its raw and in your face and shows an instinctive knowledge of what makes a good song which they deliver with a spiky urgency, confidence and flamboyance. Just what the rock and roll doctor ordered. This is one band who underline why you got into the music in the first place - and who show the value of sites like My Space for giving upcoming bands a chance to show what they can do. They're sure to receive more coverage on Sohostrut. Dig the new breed!! Rob Massey |
